Wooden Bicycle Set to Make Record?
Can a bicycle made entirely of wood really reach a top speed of 31mph? Made by a pair of British designers, ‘SplinterBike’ was born out of a bet between friends that one couldn’t build a bike only out of wood – the loser is now £1 lighter!
Whilst not the first wooden bike, the pair, Michael Thompson and James Tully believe that it could well be the fastest and have called in the Speed Record Club, at a cost of £7,500 to help them determine the bikes’ top speed.
