Volvo V60 Diesel Hybrid Plug-in

Transport

Volvo’s latest car is aiming to supply all those car buyers out there too confused by the hybrid/all electric/gas options out there by producing a car that can be any one of these 3 with a simple push of a button. Based on the popular V60 model, Volvo’s new Diesel Hybrid Plug-in (great name) is set to fill a gap in the market, that most possibly didn’t even know existed.

With the greatest of ease, a mere button, the Volvo will give complete control over how the car performs to the driver. If its efficiency you require, then hybrid is the option you want. If power is more vital, then diesel is the best choice. If however you wish to travel only a short distance in clean, non polluting comfort, the all electric option is right up your alley.

A diesel engine drives the front wheels of the car, while a 70 horsepower electric motor powered by a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery drives the rear wheels. The diesel engine can produce up to 215 horsepower, and the company claims the car only has CO2 emissions of only 49g/km because of its hybrid drive-train. – Inhabitat
