Constructing Shadows
Sonja Vordermaier’s installation pieces are entitled ‘Schatten’ – meaning shadows, and ‘Formed abscence of light’. Constructed of aluminium, they range in size from a colossal 18 x 7 x 4m, to pieces constructed of fragments that are less than a metre each. All are equally effective at portraying a dynamic sense of impending darkness expanding to consume a space.
