The Iconic Eiffel Tower, under construction!
I’ve said before how much I enjoy watching a building come to life. Below is a gallery of photos depicting the original drawings used in construction as well as construction process photos.
The Eiffel Tower construction begun in 1887, was completed 1889 and stands 324 metres high. The entire structure weighs an impressive 9441 tons, as is made up of 18038 individual pieces of wrought iron. To paint the eiffel tower it requires 60 tons of paint, and 3 shades of brown are used when it is repainted every 7 years (the darkest shade to the bottom).
