Structures – The beautiful photography of Heiko Waechter

Here in Habitables world, we love a great photographer, we love almost all photography equally. The only way we could possibly love any set of photographs more than others is if they were of our favourite subject: architecture!

Heiko Waechter has a lovely portfolio of photographs, with an eclectic array of topics, ranging from Citys to Umbrellas, Shoes to Bali. We particularly love his set entitled ‘Structures’. This isn’t a collection made of photos of famous and iconic buildings. It focuses on the aspects of buildings that make them what they are, their functionality, their structure. That isn’t to say that famous buildings don’t feature, but that these photos aren’t about the whole structure they are about the tiny elements that combine to create what we know as architecture.
