Parkour, Sir Jumpalot – London, Paris
This video starts brilliantly, with the parkour athletes sliding down a slope in Paris, that clearly wasn’t built as a slide. This ‘abuse’ of notions of space and urban design make these videos hugely entertaining for architects. We design our world to conform to accepted standards and idea, and assume that people will use them in these ways. When people come along and challenge the status quo of urban movement, it makes for interesting viewing!
