Architecture Photo of the day #23 – Suspended
Cantilevered. Suspended. Hanging. However you choose to describe this outwardly projecting volume on a Berlin hotel, you have to admit that it makes quite the impression. Appearing to float out in space, the cantilevered volume is dynamic, altering significantly the facade of the building.
I chose this photo for todays ‘Photo of the Day’ because of the great angle of the shot. From this viewpoint you can really appreciate the extent of the projection. Kudos to the engineering team on this one, I’m sure they had a fair few headaches when the architect presented the design!
