Architecture Photo of the day #20 – Glazed
The grandeur of todays photo is not only in its impressive use of materials, but the building itself is an incredibly politically significant place- The Federal Building, San Francisco. To me, being a resident of the UK, the building itself speaks of power (blame Hollywood). The materials used and the design speak to this power from within, and the building exerts this power outwardly.
This photo perfectly captures the important role this building plays in the American society, and firmly wears its power for the world to see. The lines and angles only further cement this image. Brilliant photo, hugely descriptive.
