Architecture Photo of the day #18 – Curved
For todays daily photo, we actually have TWO – spoiling you, I know! You may be asking yourself ‘Why’, ‘what have we done to deserve this’? The truth is, I don’t need a reason – you’re just that lucky.
The photos are of the Liège-Guillemins railway station in Leige, Belgium. The first photo I found was simply stunning. The curve of the structure, the steel bars radiating outwards, and the grandeur of the approach to transport made me stop and say WOW. The second photo shows the gorgeous details of the station. Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava Valls, and opened in 2009 – a station that certainly makes train travel appealing, just to arrive in such a magnificent space. I’m sure I can com up with a reason (read; any reason) to venture to Leige in the near future, can’t I?
Do you have an architecture photo on Flickr that you think we should feature? Why not drop us an email, we’d love to hear from you!
