Pigeon Light – Ed Carpenter
Chances are, if you live in a city you HATE pigeons (I don’t understand the level of hostility myself), but the general mood towards them is not a positive one. Thanks to designer Ed Carpenter, it may now be possible to have a pigeon in your house and not dislike it!
Simple and elegant, the ‘Pigeon Light’ is delightful. Ed designed the light originally whilst studying product design at London’s Royal College of Art (no doubt the product of exhaustive research into the cities flying menace), and the light was shown at his graduation shown. Now in full production, in a range of colours, the Pigeon Light can be bought to occupy a place on the corner of your desk!
Securing the light is possible through the use of a peg (yes, a clothes peg), adding a level of whimsical and flightly like characteristics to this immobile light. Personally, we’d like to see a range of city dwelling animals in an extended range – how about the fox and rat Ed?
