3D printed ‘Hadar’ Lamp, Cyril Afsa
When it comes to 2011, there will most certainly be a buzz around products and accessories that have been 3D printed. Up until recently the process was fairly niche, due to its complexity and cost. But as is always the way, the process has become more efficient and next year is the time the masses will have access to products that have been created in this way.
French artist Cyril Afsa has created the Hadar Lamp, a beautifully islamic influenced lamp. Inspired by the geometric floral patterns of the muqarnas, I can’t think of many things that would so expertly express the fragile beauty of items that have been 3D printed, superb.
