Apple, the world renowned tech brand, and Norman Foster, the English ‘starchitect’ are to join forces for the creation of Apple’s new HQ in Cupertino, California, according to reports.

Apple, the brand behind the iPhone, iPad and Mac line of computers have recently completed the purchase of the old HP HQ in downtown Cupertino, and have now become the largest land owner in the town. Their new site is situated just 2 miles from their current main base at 1 Infinite Loop.

According to reports from Spanish daily elEconomista, Foster has been in discussions with Apple CEO Steve Jobs, with the creation set to mirror the Masdar development in Abu Dhabi – soon to be the worlds first completely car free city.

The new site will be home to Apple engineers and their R&D department, and it will “incorporate cutting-edge technology in materials and equipment as well as renewable energy resources,” says elEconomista.

Only early stage discussions have taken place, so unfortunately no plans or concept work available at this time, but we will be sure to keep you posted!
