Become a guest writer on Habitables!

Architecture, Feature

Today, we want to open up Habitables to other writers. We think there is a whole world of opinion out there, and if you have a view on architecture or the built environment that the world should hear, we want to feature you!

So how simple is it to get a feature as a guest poster on Habitables?

Well, it certainly isn’t writing your own name easy, but then it isn’t ‘the works of Shakespeare’ hard – we want quality writing and original content.

So what are our guidelines?

We provide content that our readers find useful, with unique opinions. Do you have a point of view that deserves a bigger audience? If there is something you know about green engineering, or the future of architectural design, or a skill that gives you an important voice on a topic, get in touch.

Who do we write for?

Students. The architecture student is like a sponge, so we like to give them content they can digest and use – if they can leave our site feeling inspired, then we have done our job.

Topic?

Well, it’s vital that we continue to be relevant to our readers, so if you want to write for Habitables, then you need to write on one of the following topics:

Architecture,
Studying Architecture,
Green Technology,
Sustainability,
Interior Design.

Quality.

Most important is the quality of the content you provide. We certainly aren’t laureate writers, but we do make sure that everything we post is something we can be proud of. We put time and effort into it so we know our readers can be sure they aren’t wasting their time reading it.

So, be interesting. Make sure you follow a logical progression, check your spelling and grammar, and please, for the love of everything, give it a little style! Have an angle, a tone, and above all, be clear!

We don’t want to feature your draft work, we only feature the kind of work you’re proud of. If you think you’ve written some truly fantastic content, then we’d love to hear from you. Don’t forget to check, and check again. reread your work, make sure it’s as good as it can be.

OK, so you’ve got this far, now what?

Well, if you have a topic or idea, then send us an email outlining your post. It helps if you can provide us with examples of some of your other work or links to your blog.

Thanks for reading, and we hope we can work with you soon!
