We Haven’t Disappeared!
If you are a regular visitor to Habitables, you may have noticed an absence in posts over the last few months. There has been some activity on the Twitter account, and for this I have to thank the wonderful @FLASC_ (Architect Susie Clapham) for her dedicated role in keeping Habitables heart beating.
Those of you who are new to Habitables, you are probably wondering who I am, and what the website itself is about. I’m Nick Varey, owner and main contributor to the site. I’m a 1st year architecture diploma student based in London. I created the site initially as a place for me to track the architecture that interested me most, to help me stay aware and up-to-date. To my great surprise, the site was read and visited by people other than myself, and spurred on by the upsurge in traffic, updating became a daily, rather than weekly occurrence.
Sadly, with my return to university in september, I haven’t been able to commit to updating the site as regularly as I would like, and have considered folding the site, or at the least looking for someone else to come on board to contribute regularly. I’ve since decided against closing down the site, and will be recommitting myself to producing content.
I will not be able to commit to the kind of regularity the site had before, but the hope is to keep the website ticking over, active and relevant. As always, I’m hoping for your support, and will be looking for someone to come on board to help with what will be a moderate workload.
So, merry christmas to everyone, from every(one) at Habitables. Here is to 2012!
