Photography drives inspiration. In 2011 we want to encourage creativity and design through the showcasing some of the most beautiful architectural photography around. Inspired designers are productive designers – and your journey starts here!

Architectural Photography Series #2 – Steve Mayes

Last week, in the inaugural Habitables Architectural Photography Series, we presented a specialist in interior architecture, this week we present Steve Mayes, a photographer with a keen eye and the ability to present architectural structures in their entirety.

He works throughout the country but with a strong focus on the North of England. He started his career ten years ago working exclusively in black and white, and this continues to be an important approach for Steve. As well as working on commission for architects and developers, Steve also exhibits in galleries and sells through his online shop at www.stevemayesshop.co.uk.

All of the shots shown here are from a 2010 exhibition held in Newcastle called Architecture of the North East. Steve was awarded an Associateship of the British Institute of Professional Photography in 2008. His portfolio site is viewable at www.stevemayesphotography.co.uk.
