Reibeck Top Terminal, Austrian Alps – Zechner and Zechner

Architecture

Architects Zechner and Zechner have won the competition to design the new Reibeck Top Terminal which will sit at a height of 2250m above sea level, in the Austrian Alps. In addition to the train station, the new building will also have a restaurant, and a outside terrace area offering gorgeous views out across the valley.

Inspired by its surroundings, the design has a somewhat organ appearance to it, giving off the impression that it has been borne out of the rocks it sits on. The wrap around roof provides a sense of connection between the building and the land, which runs through the entire structure.
