Recycled House – 2012Architects

Architecture

Is it possible to build a house almost completely from reclaimed or recycled goods? Well if you are 2012Architects from the Netherlands then the answer is a resounding yes. Sourcing the materials needed for 60% of the exterior and 90% of the interior from an area of just 9 miles surrounding the site, the architects have created a reclaimed home that looks anything but.

The architects call the process “recyclicity” or “superuse”, and this process has lead to a heavily reduced carbon footprint to the transportation of materials to site. Inspired by a project undertaken whilst studying at university, the architects took what they learnt from their studies and applied it to a live job with resounding success.
