New York High Line Phase 2 Opens

The New York High Line is a 1.45mile long raised park area that sits on a 65 year old disused freight train line. The second phase of this extraordinary public space has opened an area of New York that was run down, and bought in an estimated $2 Billion worth of new construction work to the areas immediately around the park.

The second phase of the park opened up this month (June 2011), and with it the success and popularity of the park continues to grow. The video below is a great introduction to the raised park by Time Magazine Art and Architecture critic Richard Lacayo, which includes an interview with one of the architects Ricardo Scofido.

    I went there last year, it’s lovely
