Mass Motion – People Mapping for Architecture
Embracing new technology is the key to a successful future for architecture. We need to make sure our buildings work on multiple levels, and be as sure as we can be that we have addressed any issues that may arise once the building is inhabited. To this end, a program such as Mass Motion is the future.
Mass Motion allows Architects to import a 3D model from a wide range of popular 3D software programs and simulate people flow through the building. The software allows for emergency scenarios to also be mapped out. This program could offer Architects a great new tool in the battle to reassure the public that our role is a vital one, but for $20,000 per licence? The price is painful, and you would have to wonder whether the service provided justifies the very high cost.
