London Olympic Pavilion Concept – Vonsung

Architecture

An impressive concept for the London Olympic Pavilion from design studio Vonsung.

100% recycled.

“A fast build, with a life span of only seventeen days, the 300m2 lightweight structure is constructed with hired materials borrowed from the existing construction site including: scaffolding boards; scaffolding poles and an industrial grade heat retractable polyethylene membrane. The Structure will be covered in recyclable translucent polyethylene sheeting which will be donated at the conclusion of the event to schools or municipals to be utilised for stretch ceilings for new buildings or in restoration. The Pavilion’s flooring is prefabricated synthetic rubber track surfacing, colandered and vulcanised ensuring greater water flow efficiency in rainy conditions. The non-slip surface has been designed to provide the best traction between the Pavilion’s floor space and external Trafalgar Square stone surface. The entire flooring will be donated and recycled to local schools inddor/outdoor physical education purposes. All building materials were selected for their ability to be 100% recycled following the closure of the Pavilion, producing no waste”
