If you’re an institution looking for a facelift, what better way to do it than with an architectural make over?
Over in Hamburg, Germany, the Luneburg University was looking to make the step up to elite academic institution. Hiring US architect Daniel Libeskind to create a buzz certainly worked, with the proposal generating as much furor as wonder. Work is set to begin early this year, with completion aimed for 2014.
Costing an estimated $76 million, this is certainly one building that will be judged under the harshest light, and being an educational facility, it will really need to deliver.
