Dwelle.ings – Dwelle

Architecture

The opinion of prefabricated or predesigned buildings is a divisive one within architecture – I however am extremely interested in the possibilities that these types of structures can offer. One of the most aesthetically pleasing I’ve ever come across is the Dwelle.ing from Dwelle. Its form is understated, and as a whole it is only as functional as it needs to be. To this end, its design is very much dictated by its use as a small dwelling or work space. The external shape is certainly attractive, but the whole is highly focused to creating an efficient environment for the occupants, within a small space.

The customisation options for both the internal decoration and facade treatment offer a level of self within these prefab designs that may come as a surprise to some, but these are designed to be small and personal, and touches like adaptive and customisable internal spaces ensure that the Dwelle offerings are very successful.

They prices are reasonable, and if this was as far as my budget would stretch for my first home, I wouldn’t be disappointed in the slightest!

“Big dwelling was originally designed as a permanent residence, that probably has the most complex criteria, but with so many different options to choose from, the basic structure can suite a wide range of applications.

The timber frame structure keeps the building relatively lightweight. The dwellings can be entirely prefabricated in a factory and delivery to site”, Dwelle
