CrossRail Station Mock Up, London
If you live or work in London, you have no doubt become aware of CrossRail, an in-development cross London (East-West) railway line. The works have involved the demolition of areas of the city, to make way for high level lines. The first trains are not expected to begin running on the line until 2018, but work has already begun on the stations themselves. The thing is, the stations are not where they are meant to be!
To help iron out many issues that can arise from the construction of such a building (traffic flow etc), a 20m x 10m mock up has been created in a warehouse outside London. Over at the delightful London Reconnections you’ll find a full run down of the project, with more great photos.
