Cliveden Village Sustainable Development Competition Winner – ECDA

Architecture

Architects ECDA created this competition winning design for a sustainable set of mews in a Grade 1 listed landscaped area. The site required a design that was both respectful to its location as well as one that would add value, both aesthetically and architecturally to the area.

The design is strong, with a focus on solid shapes and usable spaces. The external treatment lends the development well to becoming a wanted addition to the local natural surroundings, whilst the low height of the buildings also aid in the developments integration.

“A competition winning design for a new sustainable development of mews houses and apartments on a brownfield site within a mature Grade 1 Listed landscape setting. The masterplan achieves a close integration of landscape and buildings in a formal composition reflecting the linearity of the estate layout as well as responding to the southerly orientation”, ECDA
