This 1960′s home in San Francisco has been transformed by Terry & Terry Architecture into a modern, well lit open planned home.

The focus of the renovation has been to bring light into the dwelling, and this has been achieved by the removal of some wall parts and roof to open up the building to sunlight.

One of the highlights of the property is the new terrace to the rear of the property, bringing the outside, in. The continuation of materiality through to the terrace creates a level of connectivity between the 2 spaces.

This clever subtraction of parts of the original structure to bring light in, along with the extensive recladding has rejuvenated this home, firmly bringing it into the 21st century.
