The translation of the traditional rural barn to that of a contemporary dwelling creates a modern interpretation of this traditional form. This Eco friendly dwelling responds to its site and orientation with glazed walls to the southern side of the dwelling. Heating is by way of wood burning stoves with these being the main heat source in winter for the dwellings. Roof mounted Solar panels provide hot water and photovoltaic cells provide electricity for this house which has the capacity to be carbon neutral
