Awesome historical photographs!

Architecture

Shorpy.com is a blog dedicated to showing off fantastic photographs from history. In there own words:

Each image is extracted from full-resolution scans. We know quality is important, so the work on each image can take several hours, depending on the amount of work that needs to be done to bring detail out of the shadows, suppress overexposed highlights, and remove blemishes caused by dust, scratches and mold. Color images require correction for color cast as well.

These are not just awesome photographs, but they exhibit the great work of the sites administrators to bring damaged photos back to their original best.

What I love so much about their collection is the vast amount of architectural photographs.

An equally loveable part of the blog is the source of the blogs name:

The site is named after Shorpy Higginbotham, a teenage coal miner who lived 100 years ago.
