Architecture Photo of the day #9 – Arching
Someone once told me that its rare that when walking around a town centre or along a street do we look up and see above the ground floor. Most people have no interest beyond eye level, and don’t look up. They really should. The below picture is of the Washington Square Arch, and shows the beauty that can be found in architecture and structures if we only looked above our noses! The marble arch is the work of New York Architect Stanford White, and was created as a permanent memorial celebrating the 100 year anniversary of George Washington’s inauguration.
Do you have an architecture photo on Flickr that you think we should feature? Why not drop us an email, we’d love to hear from you!
