Architecture Photo of the Day – #71 – Enclosed
This photo reminded me alot of the atrium roof at the British Museum in London. This roof is from the National Portait Gallery in Washington, USA. The photo really captures so well the feeling of this space being an enclosed space, giving the impression that a covering was simply placed over the buildings, keeping them and the trees exactly as they were. Lovely roof, and excellent execution – but then what would you expect from Foster?
