Ad Astra Residence – Munkenbeck and Partners
Architects Munkenbeck and Partners are behind this impressive family home in Stanmore, England. Located on the outskirts of London, this large scale family home sits in impressive manicured gardens, and is equally well presented inside.
The external facade of the property is clad in natural stone, with key details highlighted in dark wood. The main feature of the property is the large curved aluminium floating roof. The double height space that sits underneath forms a dramatic entrance into the property.
“This house is on a 4 acre plot on top of a hill overlooking a park in Stanmore. The project was for a home with family recreational facilities to maximize the effect of an impressive site. There is a gym and staff flat in the basement, indoor/outdoor pool wing and 6 bedrooms on the first floor. The exterior walls are of natural stone and there is an upward curved aluminum roof floating over the double height atrium foyer and main living areas. The project was awarded in the Harrow Heritage Architectural and Environmental Awards 2008″, Munkenbeck and Partners
