850 Clear Water Bay Road, Hong Kong – Aedas
Looking very much like homes out of a sci-fi movie, these 2 storey properties in Hong Kong, by Aedas are in fact very real. The 2 properties sit on a rather large (at least for Hong Kong) plot of land. The clean lines and sharp angles of the properties provide start contrast to the lush greenery surrounding them.
Designed with double height spaces within, the architects have allowed for the spread of light into the internal spaces as well as creating well ventilated areas.
“Situated in Silverstrand, Clear Water Bay Road, Sai Kung, this private residence consists of three numbers of two storey houses within a secluded 4,000m2 landscaped garden. The ultimate objectives to create a modern, elegant environment for the occupants.
The architectural design provides double volume public spaces flooded by natural light. The houses are orientated towards prevailing wind direction to maximize the potential for natural ventilation throughout the year.
The development provides a house for the owner and a house for their daughter’s family. The houses are uniquely designed to be connected by a glazed “rotunda” library that provided a physical connection and a meeting space. A guest house is separated from the main house for visiting relatives and friends during their short stay.
The private residence will not only be an architectural statement, it can also be considered as an ultimate living experience”, Aedas
